Practice in spite of fear
During the previous Mercury Retrograde, I took some time to take stock and look through the results I’ve created for myself this year.
While rummaging through some of the notes and channeled insights that I’ve written down for myself, I encountered this,
“Practice acting in spite of fear. Every time you act in spite of fear, you practice and become the leader that you want to be.”
I am a highly anxious individual who’s easily immobilized by fear. In the holy trinity of fight, flight or freeze, I tend to freeze a lot because I’m afraid of making the wrong move. So I don’t act.
I’m at the point in my life where I am practicing how I can act in spite of my own fears (of being unworthy, of feeling good enough etc,). I’m still in the process of working with my perfectionist conversation and I’m glad that I’ve made some progress with that this year.
If you notice, I didn’t produce a lot of content in 2021. But this year, I’m on a content high. Because I’ve started to practice putting things out there rather than stewing and getting paralyzed by a need to be perfect.
If you, like me, tend to get paralyzed by fear, see if you can start to practice a new way of being: act in spite of the fear.
